If you had the power to direct your life in the way you desire, would you do it? According to science, you can do just that by using a powerful tool called affirmations.

Affirmations are simply positive statements you repeat to yourself each day. The idea is that repeating these statements to yourself lends the opportunity to influence your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind, according to Walter E. Jackson, M.D, has a major influence on the actualization of our lives and the manifestation of our desires. In other words, what you subconsciously believe significantly impacts the outcome of events in your life. This is where the law of attraction, in which “like attracts like” comes into play. This being the case, you can attract positive or negative events into your life based on what you put into the world.  

If you want to increase good experiences in your life, start verbally expressing these statements on a daily basis with confidence, and watch as good things begin to happen! The intent of affirmations is to create self-change. They can be used as reminders, goals, and inspirations to help you focus on what you really want in your life. Think about what you want, who you want to become, and how you want your life to proceed. Create that mental image, and then express it verbally as though it has already occurred.  

Affirmations help you press reset. They can help you re-write self-limiting beliefs. Self-limiting beliefs are assumptions you have about yourself that prevent you from reaching your full potential. These become fixed ideas and turn into truth. You have the power to change these fixed emotions or truths by telling yourself how to feel. You can influence and/or redirect your thinking in the most positive way! By doing this, you will attract good things to yourself. This will shift you from a self-limiting mindset to thoughts that encourage your limitless potential.
